Our Natural pouch: leather from Tärnsjö Garveri, founded 1873
The hide
Vegetable-tanned, the slow way
All our leather is vegetable-tanned: no chrome, no shortcuts. It takes weeks rather than hours, and the result is a firmer leather that takes a burnish, darkens honestly with light, and smells like leather rather than chemistry.
Our Natural pouch is made exclusively from leather from Tärnsjö Garveri in Sweden, founded in 1873, using only Swedish hides. The other pouches are made from premium European vegetable-tanned leather.
The making
How one pouch is made
Nothing here is stamped out. Every step below is done by hand.
Selecting the hide
We work through the hide by hand, setting aside the parts with scars or stretch.
Cutting
Each panel is cut by hand. No two hides behave the same, so no two cuts are identical.
Lining
The interior is lined in microfibre that will not scratch a case.
Stitching
Saddle-stitched by hand. Two needles, one seam — if a stitch ever gives, the rest holds.
Finishing
The edges are finished by hand until they are smooth enough to read as a single piece of leather.
Final inspection
A watch goes in. The pouch is closed, opened, checked and boxed by the person who made it.
